Minimbah Aboriginal School
A huge thank you to George and the Canberra Grammar School team representing the Dream Cricket program. Having George visit Minimbah Aboriginal Primary School is a highlight for our community. George and the group continue to foster relationships with our students that avow the sincere connections we share through different cultures, social statuses and geographical locations. The Dream Cricket program has allowed our Stage 3 students to engage in a day of fun, engaging play that built on the students’ motor skills and was easily differentiated to their skill level. The students all found themselves keenly involved, with everyone leaving smiling. Once again, thank you all.
Sheldon, Classroom Teacher
George and Paddy took our three classes for exciting Dream Cricket sessions across two days. Our Minimbah Aboriginal School students enjoyed the skills and games immensely, with both leaders able to adapt them to a range of ages, needs and skill levels. It was wonderful to see so many rise to the occasion, be it hitting middle stump at sticky wicky; batting with growing confidence, accuracy and determination; and even challenging and (it was reported) even defeating George and Paddy in the popular “Run Out” game!
One of our younger students had never played cricket or even seen it on television. It became apparent he was a natural and both leaders went out of their way to challenge, educate and enthuse him with the intricacies of a sport he might now consider taking up and succeeding at.
A great two days for our small school and thank you to Dream Cricket for coming out to us to share the fun. See you again next summer for sure.
